Mason's First Trip to the Dentist

Mason had his first dentist's appointment.  Both kids actually went to the dentist so Mason got to watch Carter go first.  He was SO good, I couldn't get over it.  We have been lucky so far Carter and Mason both Love the dentist.

Here is Carter on his first cleaning at the dentists (2nd trip)

Plattsburgh

We took a trip home this past weekend. We had so much fun with Grandma and had a great time at the lake. We got to see baby Andrew and Lyla.

Rocket Ship

Mason had a fever last week so he was out of school most of the week.  On Thursday I was trying to get both kids to relax so everyone would hopefully stay healthy.  We put together this rocket and colored it.

Concerts at the Pond

Every Tuesday night the Medford Family Netowork puts on children's concerts at Wrights Pond which is about 1 mile from my house.  It is a really fun thing to do in the summer.  We usually bring a picnic dinner, go swimming, and listen to the concert/play.  Uncle Scott was down visiting this week and joined us at the pond this past Tuesday.

Boston FD

This past weekend Dave was away camping.  The kids and I had a very lazy Saturday morning.  We stayed in our pajamas and made pancakes and relaxed.  We have had a busy summer and sometimes I think the kids would rather stay home and play with their toys then go somewhere else! We then went to the Boston Children's Museum.  Going there after 11:00 on a rainy Saturday is a big mistake.  Way too crowded.  It was worth the trip though because on the way to the museum we passed the Boston Fire Department Museum which was open and free! We have walked by it a lot but I have never seen it opened. The kids thought looking at all the old fire trucks was great and they got free fire hats.  I have  a hard time getting good pictures lately because my subjects do not want to sit still for me!

After the fire museum we went to the museum, but due to the above mentioned crowds we saw a show at the theatre and then went to Flour bakery for treats after lunch!

Not Feeling Well

Last week I had to pick Carter up from school because he had a fever.  His fever was not very high and he was still in a pretty good mood, just lethargic.  He didn't really want to eat, but I made him a English muffin and brought him juice to have in my bed.  We do not let the kids eat anywhere but in the kitchen at the table, so for Carter to have food in MY bed was really something special.  He said, "wow Mom, this is actually a pretty fun dinner!"

Circus Smirkus

Carter and I went to Circus Smirkus on Sunday. We both loved the circus, it is put on by kids 10-18 and it is very impressive. Carter called it his special day with Mommy and it was really nice to spend some one on one time with him. He was such a good boy and I loved watching how excited he was by the circus. There were some pretty young performers and Carter was very concerned about where there Mom and Dads were.

Books

Thankfully both kids continue to love books. We go to the library as often as we can to pick out new ones. Unfortunately in the summer our library is closed on the weekends so we don't get there as much. Carter has been reading Skippyjon Jones books lately and he LOVES them. We got some at the library and then I discovered he has a bunch of them at school. They are funny books and we like reading them.....a Siamese cat who thinks he is a Chihuahua is pretty funny (his ears are too big for his head and his head is too big for his body)!
We also bought Good Night Martha's Vineyard when we are on vacation and we have been having fun reading it and talking about all the things we did on vacation.
