Aquinnah & Moshup Beach

We have been to Aquinnah a couple of times but never to the beach.  The beach is probably one of the nicest beaches I have ever been to.  The water is crystal clear and the sand is super soft.  Set right below the cliffs, it is really gorgeous.  The only downside is you can't walk too far down because that's where the nude beach is....I know...we tried. 

After the beach we went up to the lighthouse and had some soft serve ice cream.  It was a perfect day.

Flying Horses, Ice Cream, Fudge!

It would not be a trip to OB without flying horses, ice cream, and fudge.  We made frequent trips downtown to the carousel and got the kids treats after dinner.  Its been a hard transition back to reality for the kids!

These two had a lot of fun together and if they weren't playing "cheapy birds" with whistles they were "ningaring"

Dinner Out

We took all the kids out for a nice dinner after our day on Chappy. We went to Lolas that has buck a shuck from 4-6 at their outdoor patio and they have lawn games.  They had bocce, ping pong, and croquet.  Carter was in his glory.  It was a perfect spot, kids could run around and we could eat oysters.  We were so early for dinner that the restaurant was pretty empty which with 4 kids six and under worked out pretty well!!

Chappy & Cape Poge LIghthouse Tour

The kids have a book about Martha's Vineyard and the last page has all the lighthouses that are on the vineyard, we like to talk about which lighthouses we have seen and which ones we haven't.  This trip we officially saw all the lighthouses (we finally drove by West Chop) and went to Cape Poge which you have to take a over sand vehicle to.  We did a tour with the Trustees and it was fabulous.  Our tour guide was so nice and knowledgeable about the area.  He took us on a tour pointed out landmarks and told us all sorts of facts.  It was the best part of vacation.  The kids loved riding in the truck and all the bumps.  After the lighthouse tour we went to the beach.  Best day of vacation.
