Rainy Sunday

It rained all day today and Carter really wanted to go outside. Daddy took him outside to play in the puddles. We will see what this does for the cold he already has!

Apple Picking

We went apple picking today! I love Fall and apple picking one of my favorite things about fall. We went to Russell Orchards and were lucky to have a beutiful day.

Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park

We just returned from our trip to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor. It was a really nice vacation. We had such a good time and its a really beautiful place. It was our first trip there and hopefully we will be able to go back soon. This was the longest car trip we had with Carter but overall he did really well. We bought him some new books and stickers for the car. The stickers were great, they helped to keep him entertained for a little while at least. We also stopped twice. Once in Freeport, ME and then we stopped in Belfast, ME for lunch. Belfast was a really cute town right on the ocean.

This is the view from Bar Harbor on the day we arrived.
On our first day the weather was overcast in the morning but cleared up by noon so it worked out really well. We drove the park loop road in the morning and stopped at Sand Beach to walk around.

We also went to Thunder Hole. The access to the rocks was closed down due to hurricane Bill, which swept several people away the day before.
We then went to Jordon Pond and hiked around the pond. This was a great hike with Carter and we had a good time with spectacular views.

After our hike around the pond we went to Jordon Pond House for lunch and ate lunch on the lawn.
After Carter napped we went to Bass Harbor and saw a light house and took another quick walk in the woods.

The next day we walked to Bar Harbor Island at low tide. Went to the top of Cadillac Mountain

We also hiked up Gorham Mountain and then spent the rest of the day in Bar Harbor.

Grandma & Grandpa

Last weekend my parents came to visit. We went to Boston for the day with Carter. It was very hot, but we had a good time!

DeCordova Museum

We recently went to the DeCordova Museum with Carter. Most museums in the Boston area offer free days or discounted days throughout the year and we try to take advantage of them whenever we can. The museum grounds are really nice and there is a sculputure park to walk around as well.
