Martha's Vineyard Part I-Hurricane

We just returned from our vacation on the vineyard. We went for one week and it was one of the best vacations we have ever had. Hurricane Irene was scheduled to hit the New England area on Sunday (the day after we arrived), but we decided not to postpone anything and it was not a big deal.

It was actually fun coming over before the hurricane. As we got to the island most people were coming off. It was fun to walk around town when it was somewhat empty and to see the ocean in the storm. The hurricane was really not much of anything on the vineyard. We didn't lose power or anything.

On Sunday afternoon we drove out to South Beach to watch the waves. It was really amazing. Part of me was scared Carter would get swept away, but we held on tight, and he had a blast.
